Unlimited Wedding Photo Uploads: What Limits Remain

Unlimited wedding photo uploads means a paid plan has no fixed count of guest files, not that every technical limit disappears. Check individual file sizes, supported formats, upload dates and storage access separately. This feature guide explains PhotosPlease's current planned allowances so you can plan collection without assuming unlimited means permanent.

Count limits and file limits are different

A wedding album can accept an unrestricted number of files while still limiting the size of each file. That distinction matters most for videos: a short clip and a long recording are each one upload, but they can place very different demands on a phone connection and on storage.

In PhotosPlease's plans as currently drafted, Starter, Standard and Pro have no set guest-upload count or overall storage-byte allowance. Free has an allowance of 20 guest uploads and 2 GB. These are planned plan limits, not finalized commercial offers. Prices and payments have not been launched.

Read the allowance in separate columns

Use this checklist when choosing the event's configuration. A blank count limit does not answer the other questions.

AllowanceWhat to establish
Number of filesWhether your selected plan caps guest submissions
Size of each fileWhether the original photo or video fits the upload limit
Upload periodThe last date new contributions can arrive
Gallery storageThe date you need your own downloaded copy
ExportsWhether a whole-album ZIP is included in your plan

What happens when a free event exceeds its allowance

When a free event goes over its allowance, PhotosPlease still stores the extra uploads but holds them back until the plan allows them. The guest sees a normal confirmation, and the host sees which files need a higher plan before they can be opened.

Use video deliberately

Invite brief clips of moments people would genuinely like to preserve, such as a greeting or a dance-floor memory. Avoid asking guests to leave their phones recording an entire ceremony simply because the plan has no file-count cap. Large files can fail a size check or take longer to transfer over a crowded connection.

Keep the camera original until the upload completes and the host can retrieve it. If a file is too large, use an agreed alternative transfer route or prepare a smaller copy while retaining the original elsewhere. Unlimited submissions is not a promise of instantaneous upload speed.

Questions and answers

Does unlimited mean there are no file-size limits?

No. The number of uploads, size of each file and supported formats are separate limits. Check the upload screen and current plan before asking for large videos.

Are the free uploads unlimited?

No. The planned free plan allows 20 guest uploads and 2 GB. Commercial limits are not final.

Can guests add both photos and videos?

Yes. Browser uploads support photos and videos within PhotosPlease's file and format restrictions.

Does unlimited mean lifetime storage?

No. Upload and retention windows remain plan-dependent. Download an archive before access ends.

Are original files retained?

The application stores the uploaded originals. If a guest supplies an already-compressed copy, it cannot recreate detail removed before upload.

What happens if a free event goes over its allowance?

Guests can keep uploading and see a normal confirmation. The extra files are stored but held back, and the host can open them once the event's plan allows it.
