Original quality wedding photos and videos from your guests
Original quality wedding photos stay that way with PhotosPlease: each photo and video is stored exactly as the guest uploaded it, and you download that same file. Nothing is resized or re-compressed. Smaller preview copies are made for fast browsing, but they never replace the original files.
Why group chats are not enough
Messaging apps usually shrink photos and videos to save data. The picture looks fine on a phone and poor in a printed album. Uploading the file itself avoids that.
Originals and previews
When a file arrives it is saved unchanged. A background job then makes two smaller copies for the gallery. You can open a photo before these copies are ready; it just shows a placeholder for a moment.
| Copy | Used for | Contains camera details |
|---|---|---|
| Original | Your downloads and the ZIP file | Yes, whatever the phone saved |
| Preview | Viewing a photo large | No |
| Thumbnail | Gallery grids | No |
A note on photo details
Phone photos often carry the time, the phone model and sometimes the place. Previews shown to guests do not include this data. The originals you download still do, so keep that in mind when you pass files on.
