Wedding photo sharing with one QR code
PhotosPlease is a wedding photo sharing service that works through a QR code. You create an event and print the code. Guests scan it and upload photos and videos from their phone browser, with no app and no account. Everything arrives in one private gallery that only you manage and download.
How wedding photo sharing works with PhotosPlease
Most of the photos taken at a wedding never reach the couple. They stay on guests' phones, or arrive weeks later through group chats that shrink every picture. PhotosPlease gives guests one simple place to send them on the day itself.
- Create your event with your names and date. A gallery and a QR code exist at once.
- Print the QR code on table cards or a welcome sign, or send the link in a message.
- Guests scan the code. The upload page opens in their browser.
- Guests choose photos and videos and upload them. Each file shows its progress.
- You open your gallery, remove anything you do not want, and download the originals.
What guests need
A phone with a camera and a web browser. That is all. There is nothing to install and no registration form. A guest can add a name so that you know who took a photo, but the name is optional.
The upload page is built for phones first: large buttons, clear progress for every file, and a plain confirmation when the upload is done.
What you control
A wedding album is private, so the starting settings are cautious. You can change each of them at any time.
| Setting | Starts as | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Guest uploads | On | Switch off to stop new uploads. |
| Guest gallery | Off | When on, guests can browse approved photos. |
| Guest downloads | Off | When on, guests can save original files from the gallery. |
| Approval before showing | Off | When on, an upload stays hidden from guests until you approve it. |
| Access PIN | None | A 4 to 8 digit code guests enter once after scanning. |
| Videos | Allowed | Switch off to accept photos only. |
File types and limits
Guests can upload JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF and HEIC photos, and MP4, MOV and WebM videos. A photo can be up to 30 MB and a video up to 100 MB. These are starting limits and may change. Files are checked by their content, not by their name, so a file that only pretends to be a photo is refused.
Getting your photos out
You can download any single file in its original form. You can also download the whole event as one ZIP file. Inside, photos, videos and voice messages sit in separate folders, and files keep the names guests gave them.
Extras for the day
Beyond plain uploads you can switch on a disposable camera with a fixed number of shots per guest, an audio guestbook, a live slideshow for a TV or projector, photo challenges and separate sub-albums.
Questions and answers
Do guests need an app for wedding photo sharing?
No. The QR code opens a web page in the phone's browser. Guests upload from there.
Do guests have to sign up?
No. Only the person who creates the event has an account. Guests are never asked to register.
Can guests upload videos?
Yes, unless you switch videos off. A video can be up to 100 MB at the moment.
Are the photos compressed?
No. The file a guest uploads is stored unchanged, and that is the file you download. Smaller copies are made only for fast previews.
Who can see the photos?
You can. Guests see other guests' photos only if you switch the guest gallery on. Event pages are not indexed by search engines.
What does it cost?
Prices are not set yet and nothing is charged today. The plan is a one-time payment per event, not a subscription.
Can I use it for an engagement party or a birthday?
Yes. An event can be any private occasion. You can have several events in one account, each with its own QR code.
