Wedding photo sharing, no app to download
Wedding photo sharing, no app needed: guests scan the QR code and a web page opens in the browser already on their phone. They choose photos and videos and upload them from that page. Fewer steps mean more guests take part, including those who avoid new apps.
Why no app matters
Every extra step loses guests. Finding an app in a store, waiting for the download and granting permissions is a lot to ask in the middle of a party. A web page opens in a second or two and asks for nothing.
What guests see
A welcome page with your names, your cover photo and one large upload button. After choosing files, each one shows a progress bar and then a tick. A second button opens the phone camera to take a new photo.
What it runs on
The guest page is a standard web page built for current versions of Safari on iPhone and Chrome on Android. It also works on a laptop, where files can be dragged onto the page.
Questions and answers
Is there an app at all?
No. Hosts and guests both use the website.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. It is built for the standard browsers on both.
Do guests need to allow anything?
Only what their phone asks when they pick photos. The optional disposable camera and voice message features ask for the camera or microphone when a guest opens them.
What if the venue has poor signal?
If the connection drops, the upload is tried again automatically. A file that still fails shows a Retry button.
Can older relatives use it?
The page has one main button and very little text, which helps. Someone nearby can also scan the code for them.
Can guests upload from a computer later?
Yes. Send them the event link and they can upload from any browser.
