A private QR code for wedding photos
A private QR code for wedding photos comes with every PhotosPlease event. It encodes a long random link that cannot be guessed, and it gives guest access only, never access to your settings. You can add a PIN as a second check. The code stays the same for the life of the event.
One code per event
The QR code points to your event's guest page and nowhere else. If you run several events, such as a rehearsal dinner and the wedding day, each has its own code and its own gallery.
Why the link is safe to print
The link behind the code contains a random token of more than 20 characters. Nobody can find your event by trying addresses. Renaming the event or changing its date does not change the token, so a code you have already printed keeps working.
What the code does not unlock
Scanning the code makes someone a guest. A guest can upload, and can browse the gallery only if you allow it. The code never opens your dashboard, your settings or the download of the whole album.
Add a PIN if you want one
For a second check, set a PIN of 4 to 8 digits and print it next to the code. Guests enter it once. Repeated wrong attempts are slowed down.
Questions and answers
Does the QR code expire?
Not by itself. It works while the event is active. You decide when to close uploads or archive the event.
Will the code change if I edit my event?
No. The code depends only on the event's random token, which never changes.
Can someone guess my event link?
The token is long and random, so guessing is not practical.
Can I download the QR code?
Yes, as PNG or SVG, and as ready-made printable layouts in poster and card size.
What if a stranger gets the code?
They would have guest access only. Use a PIN, switch on approval, or keep the guest gallery off to limit what a guest can do.
Is my event page on Google?
No. Event pages tell search engines not to index them and are never listed in the sitemap.
